He was the JCR- Vice President in Republic Hall at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology (KNUST) and after school, held leadership positions in almost every community in which he found himself; notable amongst which include:

Mr. Acheampong attended the Achimota School from 1982 to 1989, one of Ghana’s foremost second cycle institutions. He then continued to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology from 1991 to 1996 where he graduated with a B.Pharm (Hons) Degree, 2nd Class (Upper Division). He then pursued and was awarded his Executive MBA in Marketing from 2003 to 2005 from the University of Ghana Business School.

He is very active in church activities holding positions such as the Chairman of the Welfare Committee and the Funeral Planning Committee of Perez Chapel International at Dzorwulu (Perez Dome) in Accra. In this capacity, he has been able to transform a hitherto non-vibrant Funeral Planning Committee into a solid Church Welfare Scheme currently being partnered by Vanguard Assurance to the satisfaction and benefit of members.
Mr. Richard Acheampong believes that one’s title just makes him a “manager”, but it is the people you lead that determines that you are a leader. To him, leadership is not the job of putting greatness into people, but rather the recognition that this greatness already exists. He, therefore, tries as much as possible to challenge the thinking of everyone he works and interacts with, to create the appropriate enabling environment and invest in individuals so as to inspire that greatness in them to emerge.
He aspires to be a role model for integrity, humility, and teamwork. What he expects from his team is for members to become learners (adaptable), to be committed to the cause and to be accountable individually and collectively to the outcomes. His mantra is “Don’t identify problems without offering potential solutions”.
Mr. Richard Acheampong was born on 3rd May 1968, and is married to Mercy, a Geodetic Engineer. The couple have four children, two boys and two girls.
