The Holy Family Hospital (HFH) in Techiman was established in 1954 by the Medical Missions Sisters, following the efforts of St. Paul’s Catholic Church elders and the Techiman Traditional Council, led by Techimanhene Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III. The project began after a significant donation of £20,000 from the Techimanhene and approval from the Ministry of Health. The hospital’s cornerstone was laid in December 1954, and it has since grown into the Municipal Hospital for Techiman, serving as a key referral facility for the region. Ownership was transferred to the Catholic Diocese of Sunyani in 1977 and later to the Diocese of Techiman in 2008.
