Ernest Chemists Limited (ECL) commenced business in 1986 initially as a sole proprietorship. In 1993, after an impressive showing over the years, it became a limited liability company.
It is a wholly owned Ghanaian company limited by shares. As the brainchild of Ernest Bediako Sampong, a pharmacist by profession, ECL has expanded from a one sales outlet to a business entity with its own office complex, warehouse facilities and a manufacturing plant.
Ernest Chemists Limited has a staff strength of over 500 people, nearly two-thirds of this figure is working in the manufacturing division.
